DURABILITY GEOTRENCHER

GRAVE CHAINS DURABILITY

Tests have shown that digging chains reach between 50 and 500 running meters. Under normal garden conditions, ranges of around 300 meters are achieved. The discrepancy depends on five main factors:

Digging depth
The deeper you dig, the greater the wear on the chain. The chain wears more with greater digging depth!

Digging speed
The correct digging speed for the soil type can increase productivity and reduce wear. An experienced user adjusts the work to the optimum speed for the ground conditions. Twice the chain speed means 4 times the chain wear! The lower the speed, the longer the chain will last! ½ to ¾ of the maximum speed has proven to be optimal.

Soil type
The more abrasive the soil, the faster the chain will wear. This wear factor can be reduced by varying the speed of the Minitrencher.

User
There is a learning curve with using the GEOTRENCHER®. A combination of understanding the soil type, depth and chain speed can greatly increase the longevity of the digging chain. A lack of this understanding can greatly reduce durability.

Chain direction
Chains are directional. If the chain is installed backwards, the efficiency of the chain is greatly reduced and the digging edge is directed away from the ground. The chain will wear prematurely and productivity will decrease.
Each unit is supplied with two sets of chains. The first set allows the operator to learn the machine and the ground. The second set allows the owner to find out how long the chains will last. The second chain should last longer than the first chain, but is not guaranteed.

Replacement teeth
Replacement teeth are available for all digging chains to extend the service life of the chain: geoTrencher.de/shop

DURABILITY OF THE RAIL

The rail consists of a deflection star wheel assembly and rail.

The nose sprocket assembly consists of the bearing, sprocket and rail tip.

The rail tip and the sprocket have a life expectancy of six to eight digging chains. Rocky ground, hard clay and gravel can significantly reduce the life expectancy.

The service life of the reversing star bearing depends on the type and moisture content of the material in which the GEOTRENCHER® is located. Sandy and other fine, abrasive soils can significantly reduce the life expectancy. The guide star bearing is estimated to last three to four digging chains.

Each unit is supplied with an additional bearing. Many owners forget their tool kit and the additional parts that are included.

The digging rail can be used on both sides by turning it. Turn the digging rail every four digging chains. If both sides of the digging rail are worn, replace the rail.

The running times are intended as a rough estimate of the expected wear of the GEOTRENCHER® excavation components, but are not guaranteed!

All spare parts can be conveniently ordered in the online store at GEOTRENCHER.de.
